Get in there!!!

Wow! My central sniper did me proud that turn!

I had advanced him inside the doorway, giving him a good view down the central corridor. Private Dickson had selected that corridor as a good place to hole up and heal his Commander.

I shot him in the back.

Ok, so not the most honourable of kills, but its 3 desperately needed points. He also took out on of the medics, taking the score up to 8 - 11.

His grenader is in the lower left room, so I plan to move my sniper towards the bottom of the map to get a look up to the doorway.

My champion sniper is staying put, covering that corridor again.

2 men left

I'm down to 2 snipers.

My Commander got taken out, along with both his medics. I got a few in return, but things look very bleak.

The current score is 4 - 11.

My snipers dont have the Rate of fire (or ammo) to kill off the remaining troops, but I'm going to take as many as possible with me!

Ouch! (Part 2)

One of my grenaders presents was kicked bacl to me, causing him to blow himself up. Nasty! (Whats wrong with just asking for a receipt.....?)

That wasnt before he sent a grenade up to where the Commander and other Grunts are attacking from. Hopefully that should do a little damage.

My Healing commander is a little vulnerable right now, but I have to stand my ground to try to hold off the incoming masses. The sniper and Grunt in the cente wil be able to attack this turn, while my other sniper is moving further downt eh outside of the building. These units are not being much use, especially as Private Dickson is keing inside that accursed building all the time. Trouble is they are not much cop at close quarter fighting due to their slow fire rate.....

Ouch!

We've had a large exchange of fire at the bottom.

Things would have gone better for me had I set Halt On Sighting on the two grunts that shot the doorways out..... It turns out that lone grenader wasnt quite as lonely as I thought. He had a few grunts keeping him company.

A few grenades later and the score is 2-2, with my Commander very badly wounded. I'm pulling them back to the joint medics and they are in for a serious healing session. I';m getting my grenader to retrun the destriuctive favour to try to keep the pressure off while healing.

I'm also moving the top grunt and one sniper into the buiolding to try to come at him from behind. The other sniper is advancing down with Halt On Sighting in case anything comes that way.

I've spoted a lone grenader in the bottom left rooms, and an now moving my troops in to try to take it out. I'm using the grunts to blow the doors in, then advancing them in. I'm also sending a grenade ito the next door room in case he tries to run away that way (or bring in reinforcements).

Still nothing seen a the top of the map though.

In hiding

Still nothing spotted on the left hand side, maybe he deployed only on the right,, or is sneakily hiding.

I'm advancing a single grunt at the bottom to see what can be spotted, and getting the snipers into good firing positions.

I'm a little worried that the top position will be overrun, so am trying to position them so they can cover each other.

Nothing sighted on the first turn back, time to move my men up into better positions.

The snipers move to get a biew down the left hand side, and my lower troops get into position for next turn.

Oh dear

The initial turn comes back showing a load of spawn in the room to the north..... Heres where I try to warp and psyche them to hell before pulling out for a retreat.

Its an all out attack towards that area, holding one sentry back to cover the side in case he sneaks up some Buzzers.

The psychers are sending lots of attacks that way also, and there are 4 warps heading in.

Lets see how this pans out.....

Warps Away!

I'vemlost track of the troops at the bottom, but have sent a few warps in to hiis likely position.

I psyched a grunt making its way around the top of the map past my destroyed regen.

I'm sending a few more psyches his way then recharging everything ready for the attack that is due to come soon!

An attempt at disinformation...?

Fatboys message said "oh yes, you just got my last HQ thats not fair" . But what about your other HQ? surely he knows I know about it.... I'll play along for the time being......

I managed to kill the Grenader in the middle, although he did get a few shots off. The Commander has taken refuge in the buildings on the left. I've also spotted a grenader, 2 grunts and a medic heading towards the same building. I'm going to move my Warper and Psycher in for a better attack position next turn.

Damn!

He's got a greunt or something up in the top left by my regen. I can tell its not a Commander by the rate of fire (I suppose there could be a commander as well.....)

That regen is gone, leaving me the sole regen in the centre. However, I did get his HQ in the bottom right so we are even there.

I managed to psyche his Commander last rurn, so I know he is approiaching the centre on the outside of the barriers. I only have enough energy for a single Warp, so I need to place it well.

My other units are move quickly retreating to the centre for support..... Move it lads!

This could be the turn that decides the game...

Nice work Guardian!

My guardian did its job wonderfully, protecting the two psyckers from the incoming grenades. It needs serious regenning though! Ideally I would have bonuced the grenades back more, but that wasnt to be.

The lower right corner appears to be a bit empty at the moment, so I have my sentries launching an assault on the HQ in that corner. If I can take that out then I can seriously limit the damage the grenaders can do.

I'm moving one sentry in close to the middle rooms, with a view to attacking at the bottom next turn. I've also moved the almost empyty warper over to the right. Next turn it will have enough energy to launch a few damaging warps into the lower right corner.

Tricky.....

The grenader went a different way, so I dont think my warps will get it. He has also advanced another grenader and a Commander into the center threatening to destroy my position.

In an attempt to bounce back any incoming grenades I'm moving the Guardian in front of the two doorways and back inside the building. It will also cover the two Psychers I've moved down from the regen to Psych the centre area.

A grenader in the bottom right has laucnhed at my sentries (did he know I was there....?) but I can easily dodge its explosion.

I'm also sending Warps into the middle area to try to destroy the incoming forces. If I can get that Commander and Grenader then I think the rest of the game will be mine. If he takes out the Psychers and Warper then I think the game is his.....

Regroup

His Grenader popped out the bottom of the building and sent another grenade my way. It will explode harmlessly off to one side. It looks like he is heading back to the bottom right corner, so I'm sending two warps that way then retreating for cover and regen.

I'm sending the sentries in on the right hand side to see if I can score myself some more marine points. I plan to withdraw them shortly in preparation for a big push in a few turns time.

Er.... maybe not.....

I should have worried about the centre earlier....

A grenader popped out from the middle building, and fired into the area with the explosive tanks. It took ou the sentry I had out on intel duty., and punched a large hole in my units shields.

It a major regroup now, sending off a psyche for intel then legging back to the regens. I do have one partially regener warper that I am moving forwards to give covering fire, and I am moving the Guardian forward to give protection.

On the right of the map I have three sentries getting ready to attack into his deployment zone next turn. I may need to pull them back to help defend the middle. If things get really bad then I'll have to pull out to the corner regen to lick my wounds. I may be able to get some of his troops if they follow me into the middle to try to finish me off... Lets see what happens now.

Going well

I've found one HQ in the top right, and due my a few good Psyches I can only assume that there is one in the bottom right corner too. The grenaders seem to be going that way along with his medics that I can spot.

My lone sentry say a healed grunt (so it must be a different one from last turn) and a Commander. That means that there is also the damaged grunt and the medic down there, totalling 6 points.

I can currently see 1 grenader and two medics in the bottom right. I saw a different grenader go that way earlier, and there must be a HQ there somewqhere. That totals 7 points

In the top right I can see agrunt and the HQ, 2 points taking the total I know about to 15. I've killed 6 points already which leaves 4 points I do not know about in this 25 FP game.

I'm sending my depleted warper back to regen along with the Guardian. The full warper is trading places, and moving on in towards my forwards Psycher. My other units are also making their way down there, trying to take care of the grunt up the top in the process.

I'd like to send as many warps over as I can, run back to regen and then make an approach under the cover of the guardian sending as many warps as I can into that corner deployment zone.

The team with the commander in the lower left corner wories me a little as they could easily approach my centre position and cause some problems. They cant get there this turn, but I need to think abou tthat next time round. Some info on that side of the map would be good.

Oh dear...

In hindsight it was a bad idea to send the sentries down to the lower regen.

The regen came under attack as soon as the turn started, with grenades damageing it and laser fire blasting it. The regen exploded, but not before 1 sentry slipped through. That leaves me with a badly wounded sentry (3 energy) in the middle of the enemy with no way of getting home.

I saw a wounded grunt running away, and can see a medic. However, im sure there is a grenader nearby. I'm tempted to run my sentry away, hoping it can escape to freedom. I doubt it would make it back anyway. I think I'm going to sit it behind the nearby wall, hoping to blast anything that stumbles out. I think his medic has seen me and so he might persue me this turn. If the sentry lives past this one then I'll move iit furether in to get more intel and hopefully to wipe out any damaged troops nearby.

Up the other end of the map I managed to kill a retreating grunt. Still not sure that area is clear, but I hope to find out this turn by moving the sentries around to see whats about.

Psyching the grenader showed me two Medics moving out of the upper building into the lower, and also another grenader running towards the lower right corner. That must be where he has setup HQ.

I think I need to regen the Guardian and send a force that way to take it out. I'm sending a few long-range waprs into that area to feel things out.

Taking the lead

I'm now 5-0 up, after my warps took out the Grenader in the top right room.

I know he has at least 2 more grenaders, as the centre deployment zone has been under constand barrage and the deploy in the lower left is also under attack.

I can see the grenader in the centre, so I'm trying to psych him and then I'm running the psycher down into the middle room more.

I'm sending a few warps over that direction, one towards the grenders position, and a couple into the corridor on the right. I think his troops are retreating down this corridor, so I hope to catch them on the run.

I can see a griunt in the top right that I'd like to psycke to find out what else is up there.

I'm moving my Guardian out a bit, hoping to deflect any more grenades that come nbear. I think this is going to be the last turn at the centre regen, as I'm going to have to retreat soon and lick my wounds.

I'm also teleporting a couple of snetries down to the lower left regen to see whats happening down there.

Its all over!

The AI's kept on trundling, and my Saucers kept on shooting.

They both went up in the same turn. I think one of my psychers got the hunter but I didnt see the usual psych symbol altough the points did go up.

I think the speed of the Saucers over the majority of the mechs force really helped here. I was able to do many hit and run style attacks and gradually whittle him down. I was also pretty lucky with my Warp placements, especially towards the AI and XT's at the top of the map.

Finally I was fortunate that none of his troops made it into my deployment zones. If a couple of hunters had got that far then they would have played havoc with my regens.

An AI Mini-herd!

The AI's are trubndling down towards my Regen area. The one in front is very heavily damanged. I have a shot inflight at the end of the turn, and test orders show its 50-50 on whether this shot fginishes the AI off or not.

I'm ording my low energy Saucer to finish off the weak AI, and then retreat to regen. The other saucer is going to target the healthier AI. When the first AI goes up it should take out the wall section that my Saucer is behind, leaving me with a nice path for attack.

My Psychers are attempting to zap the lone Hunter.

I'm also moving the Warper back to the other regen, ready for some warps next turn.

Blimey!

He is certinly trying to make up for the last game!

He has grenaded my central position, taking out the walls but not harming my unuts at all. I spotted a grenader running away towards the southeast.

I can also see a grenader running into the room my warps are about to go into. He must get a shot off as right at the end of the turn I see a grenade headed towards my top deployment zone, going pretty quick. I have to move my psycher and two sentries into the top room to get out the way of its blast. Luckily I know this room is clear as my snetries took out two grunts at the other end. However, I do know that the area behind that room isnt clear, and I spotted a couple more grunts int he very corner. I'm advancing those sentries with Halt On Sight orders, hoping that if they pop in I can get some shots off at them. to get my other sentries out of the way I am having to move them out into the open, but I hope to get a look around to see what else is about.

I'm sending more warps into the room with the grenader to finish him off, and I have advanced a Sentry next to that room to see whats over in his deployment zone.

It looks like Fatboy is playing tough, this is going to be a good game.

Here we go!

I've had to delay on this game as well. Typing up these turn commentarys takes up more time than I'd have thought.

I think I'll have to cut down on the number of games I do this on....

Anyway, my first turn consits of throwing warps and psyches into the top right corner, with a few tactical Hold orders between the warps to ensure that the dorrs get blown before the second warp gets there.

If anythin is in that corner then I should at least catch a glimpse of it.

Better plans can come from the better information I hope to have next turn.

Permalink | Comments (0)

Ooops, my bad

I'd forgotten this was a 25 point game......

I'd counted up the units I knew about, got to 20 and thought "Well, thats it. I've got this wrapped up!"

I was very confident, until the moment the doors alongside my sentry opened up, and another AI, and a hunter came rolling through it. That sentry, predictably enough, is no more.

I like it when games take a turn like this. Its what LSN is all about. Just when you think you have things sewn up, you get surprised.

Last turn I'd retreated my Warper back to the regen to rearm. It took him out of the comfortable Military Walled area where the AI's cannot get, but at least its in a better position to mount a sustained attack on the AI area.

I also managed to finish off the MT, and the resulting explosion obliterated the XT over there. That area is now purged of the enemy, excluding the Scanner thats flitting about somewhere. I'm not too worried about that at the moment.

Anyway, the injured AI had tunnelled through the building wall, and was also approaching my doomed sentry. That means that my Saucer is in totally the wrong place for an attack, unless I want to come round the back. Thats not ideal as I dont want to get cutoff from my regens.

I'm bringing the forward saucer back to wher it was last turn, just inside the doorway in the side corridor. It can get a couple of shots off towards the AI's.

The warper is firing towards the area, and then moving to the other regen for rearming. I dont want that hunter to sneak up and keep shooting it in the back.

I'm also trying to Psyche each unit, to harm and blind. I'm moving the Psychers over ready for next turn, but the Psycher in the middle is getting moved to just inside the doorway. Thats so that if the hunter tries to get inside its compartment it will hopefully be blocked and will be forced to stay outside. If that does happen then next turn it will not be able to move and fire at that psycher, leaving it a nice stationary target for my other Psychers. If I dont block the doorway then it could just move a few squares then commence its attack, making it a tricky Psyche target.

Current score 13 - 1

Boom!

In the last turns message I taunted thegoblin by saying "Can you kill a few more of your troops with missiles before I blow your MT up?"

He happily obliged by catching a corner with his missile and taking out one of his XT's for me. Cheers, that saved my ammo!

I took out two of the three XT's heading in from the top of the map. Probably put a slight dent in the AI also. There is still another XT up there somewhere. Hopefully my Sentries can take care of it this turn. I have a few Psyches headed in that way too.

My Saucer is also going that way to help attack the AI.

My other saucer has made it back to base to refuel its armour.

The MT is now VERY low on health. My test orders show that a single Psyche is enough to finish it off, so thats what I'm going to try to do.

I'm moving troops round a little as there isnt much left on the right of the map. If I can keep the AI blind then it cannot attack me, so I'm moving the Psychers up that way.

A late deployment

This game has pulled Barracks, a map I havent played for a long time. I'm in the Blue area.

I think I'm going to go with Marines. I've stationed a couple of Snipers at the top of the map, ready to move over and get a good look down the long edge of the map towards the lower deployment zone. I've piut a grunt with them to help defend if a Hunter comes flying too close.

I'm going to put the rest of my troops, made up of the Commander, 3 Grunts, 2 Medics and a Grenader in the bottom right. I plan on moving them over towards the same deployment zone that the Snipers are spying on. Catch whatever is there in a little pincer movement of sorts.

I think its better than try to fight towards both deployment zones at once.

You guessed it, Gooed again.

If I had moved behind the wall instead of laying the egg then I think I'd still be free.

However, I did manage to get an egg laid and it looks like I may have a way out of the goo.

In test orders at least there is a small channel that has remained goo free. If I get my Queen to gnaw through the walls nearby it gives me enough room to move free. It may just be a quirk or the client and in reality that area is completely gooed.

It my only hope so I have to give it a go.

Erm....

Not exactly what I had in mind...

The buzzer got eaten, my Spitter got eaten, and the drones all ran away. That leaves me with just my Queen.

At least it makes plotting orders nice and easy.

The good news is that my Queen gets unstuck this turn, and I should be able to nosh on a corpse and lay an egg. Also, before it dies my Spitter gooed up his Queen again, so she is stuck there , unablke to lay more than a single egg for 2 turns or so.

My problem is that I do not know where the enemy Spitter is. If I get stuck again then its definately game over. If I can wriggle free then I may just be able to stage a comeback.

Last ditch plan....?

Ok, Current score is 12-14.

I know he has 1 badly wounded Drone, 2 slightly wounded drones, a Goo spitter and a Queen.

I managed to goo up the Queen myself, and also my goo took out the spitter that was drenching my own Queen.

That leaves one more spitter that I could go for with my remaining buzzer.

I have a choice. I could either persue that spitter, hoping to avoid the drones long enough to kill it off, hopefully getting my Queen freed up for corpse eating. Alternatively I could try to lure the drones near to my Queen so that she can bite them, and eat them after that.

If I go for the spitter and the drones get me them I'm toast.

If I try to draw the drones in, but they are ordered away, then at least I still have the buzzer left for more recon and another attempt on the spitter. Thats what I shall do!

I've plotted a track for my buzzer taking it behind the Queen. Hopefully the drones will wonder near enough so that she can bite them and finish them off....

Here goes nothing!

Stuck!

My Queen is well and truly gooed up! I'm firing back at the enemy Queen position through the slit in the metal wall, hoping to get them to stick for as long as I do. My Spitter lacks the angle to get them over the all, so I'm having to get through the slit..... tricky.

We've traded a few units , leaving me with a badly injured Goo Spitter, a buzzer, a Spiker and of course my Queen.

At the beginning of the turn the score was 8-9, now it is 11-13, so I'm slowly losing the battle. I need to get my Queen heavily involved, but thats bit tricky when she is stuck to the floor.

I'm sending the buzzer to see what the enemy Queen is up to, and hopefully to eat any eggs she may have laid. Also, I might be able to finish off the nasty Goo Spitter that has been plaguing me!

A tale of woe...

I went down the pub with a few friends Friday night and we got talking about a Pub near us that does an All-You-Can-Eat Mexican buffet. We all love Mexican food and often bemoan the fact that there are no decent Mexican restaurants anywhere near us.1 The last time they held one of these evenings was about 6 weeks ago, and we all agreed to keep an eye in the local papers to see when it would next be held.....

The next day I met with Jamie who said he had found an advert for this pub, with a new date for their Mexican night!!! Guess when it is....

The night before.

We had missed it, while moaning about how we had missed the one before.

I need some kind of system that emails me 3 days in advance with details of interesting culinary treats in my local area.

Its either that or I go hungry. Again.

1 Actually, there is a Mexican takeaway in the next town up the road, but I've yet to try it. Too worried about the food getting cold by the time I get home

The problem is that there are going to be a few more corpses around in a moment. My advanced Spikers have been overrun with Drones, and most of my troops are injured.

The current score is 8-9 and I dont think its going to end up in my favour....

Getting stuck in

My plan to trap the incoming Splatters worked ok. The first one got stuck in the goo, and my spikers took a few shots at it. Unfortunately the Drone took a bit also and has finished it off. Test orders show that the blast destroys the corpse of the Drone I had just killed for recycling. How annoying!

There is another incoming splatter, but the surviving Drone and spikers should sort it.

The middle area is getting a bit messy. I'm moving the queen on in that direction as next turn the floor is free for me to eat the corpses. I'm also gooing the other side of the middle area to prevent his queen from getting that way. Thats where a lot of the corpses are, so I want to deny him access. His Queen is in the same room that mine was waiting in, so its going to be a race to the corpses.

Spawn Vs Greys!

I didnt fare too well in my other Spawn Vs Greys match... Lets see how I get on against Dominatus

This one has pulled up Blast Radius with me deploying in the Green area.

There is a lot of cover for Spawn to flit through, so I think this is going to be another tough match.

With only 20 points to use I'm going to be vastly outnumbered.

I've decided to go for 2 Psychers, 2 Warpers, 6 Sentries and 2 Regens.

I've positioned one regen in the middle of the main building, with all my troops around it. The other regen is at the back of the map.

I'm hoping to warp any potential incoming waves then get the hell out of there before I get overrun. The Psychers and warpers are in the central room along with the psychers, while the snetries are all in the next room along (closer to the enemy) hopefully able to oput their guns to use.

I dont really hold much hope as a few splatters will just wipe me out..... I dont think guardians are all that useful agaisnt spawn since its mainly a hand-to-hand style of combat . I'm hoping that the extra firepower I can bring to bear instead of the Guardian will help more.

Fainting Goats

There isnt really much to say about this video clip......

How these animals ever survived any predator attacks I'll never know.

Incoming!!!!

My buzzer has spotted two Splatters coming my way round the outside of the building, towards my Queen and all the Spikers!

Time to move them clear! I've left a drone behind the destroyable doors, and am moving a drone to stand near the new hole the Queen has chewwed. I'm hoping that if they come in through the door in the Queens room then they will persue her, towards my waiting drone and the Goo ball thats about to explode there. The buzzer that spotted them did such a good job that I'm sending it out on a longer recon trip towards the other side of the map.

Advancing my drones out certainly seemed to help, as I have eaten one enemy drone, and have practically killed another, while only having one of mine slightly injured. The areas is covered with goo though, so it'll be a few turns until I can get my Queen anywhere nearby.

Im retreating my injured Drone back for recycling. I plan to lay an egg next turn, and then start chewing away the walls around the centre to give myselv a better view at any incoming troops. When the goo has cleared I want to get to the corpses to bolster my forces.

Where did he go?

Not much happened that turn.....

A few goo balls came towards me, so maybe he is hoping to attack this turn. I doubt it though.....

I'm going to make a few escape route with my Queen, and whizz a few buzzers around to get some intel on what is coming my way.

I'm advancing my Drones a little to see if there is anything to bite. They are getting hungry.

Boom!

... goes my AI,. under a hail of Sniper fire.

It proved ineffective at removing the wall sheltering the Commander, and to be honest I think the Commander would have got a shot off and exploded my AI even quicker.

I really should have made more of my AI. Its a 4 point unit, and I spnt most of my time moving it back and forth, healing up units that just got blasted to bits again. Maybe the scoreline woukdnt have been too bad had I moved into the thick of the fray earlier, and tried to take out a few of the enemy instead.

Overall a fun game though.

Final score 5 - 15.

Curses again!

His badly wounded Commander is being guided by the hand of Julian Gollop himself.... Two of my AI shots managed to somehow nick the edge of the flimsiest looking pieces of wall I've ever seen, narrowly missing the blessed Commander..... Its now run behind a wall, and is getting healed up.

I'm moving the Ai forward a bit, and am mixing in Terrain fire orders into the mass of redlines to try to knock out the covering wall. I want that Commander....

The only real use of my Scanner is to act as a distraction and to try to rebound any incoming grenades. It'll be spinning around the open bits of the map trying to attract a little incoming fire.

May the fourth be with you!

Today is the day I get to make my annual Star Wars joke.

Good isn't it?

If Lucasfilm had any sense they would have scheduled Episode III for release today. "May The Fourth Be With You" would have made a great advertising byline....

Clinging on....

That went reasonably well. I landed a very damaging shot on the Commander, but his corner dancing meant he avoided getting another. The same kind of orders as last time really, although I'd be surprised if my AI survives another two turns....

The scanner has attracted a bit of attention, and so I'm advancing it forwards towards his retreating troops. I need to keep them scanned to be able to do my major redlining exercise. I'm hoping it survives also.

I dont think there is much I can do to salvage this, except receive a few lucky shots....

Xenomorphs!

Its Spawn Vs Spawn.

In hindsight I should really have taken the clue form my opponents name.....

I've seen a few buzzers and a drone also running towards the middle of the map.

In my experience Spawn Vs Spawn games often come down to who can eat the most corpses.. Ideally I want to draw his troops in towards my Queen.

I'm moving the Spikers into the nearby corridor, and opfiring up towards where the enemy was sighted. I'm pulling the furthest buzzer back, and getting it to eat the intervening door so that the Spikers can get shots off towards the enemy.

I'm posisitoning my remaining troops near other doors to start munching on anything that wonders in. I'll have to expect a splatter or two though.... so I need to try to get my Spitter into a decent defensive position. I'm getting it to fire into the main corridor, trying to block off the junction. I have lots of flying troops in there anyway so it shouldnt cause me a problem.

Lets get this moving

I've delayed on this game for ages, whilst trying to get a few other writeups done (its amazing just how long they take....). you can see just how long I've delayed by checking out the posting dates in this category!

First things first, I'm getting my Queen to eat a few walls to make a hidden route for herself through towards the middle of the map.

I'm moving the drones up to sit inside one of the doble doorways. I want them near the centre when I find out what race I'm playing.

I'm moving the buzzers towards the middle also, leaving one with a glace out through one of the middle-bottom windows.

The Spikers are also moving up into better positions.

Dont really have much of a plan for this yet, its quite a small map, and my troops are quick so I should be able to adjust fairly rapidly depending on what comes back at me.....

An uphill struggle

It didnt go quite as badly as it could have, although the score is now 4 - 9. My hunter got taken out without really doing a great deal of damage.

My only real hope now is to get the AI out towards the grouping of troops towards the middle, and take a few out. To that end I'm rolling it over with plenty more redlines to take any shot that presents itself.

I'm popping the scanner out on the righthand side to try to trip any more Halt on Sighting orders that may have been set, and maybe to distract his attention a little.....

It wont take many shots from the Commender and Sniper to finish my rather ineffective tank off though, so I expect this to be over rather soon....

Gah!

Its all going a bit wrong......

A sniper took out the XT I was healing, making that last turn a complete waste. I have troops approaching from all sides (1 of which took out the Hunter I had sent out on its flanking mission.

So, I'm left with my AI, a hunter and my scanner.... Current score 4 - 8

I'm going to pop the scanner out of cover, hoping to get a look up towards where the sniper is hiding. Hopefully it will trigger some Halt On Sighting orders too....

I dont think he has seen where my hunter advanced to (right near his approaching grunt and Genader) so I'm going to run it out past the grunt so that I can hopefully get behind the grenader to score some points.

My AI is finally advancing out, with lots of Red Line orders on the Commander, Grenader and Grunt so it should fire at whatever it can see. I really want to get it to move over to the right a little once its cleared the doorway, as it will be in the firing line for the Commander and the Sniper. Nasty.

Oh well, lets see how that goes.....

Another one bites the dust

I had moved a troop up towards the badly wounded Grunt I had been duking it out with. It worked brilliantly, until the time the Op fire order I issued aimed at the distant Commander (full health) as opposed to the nearby grunt on low health... Shame.

That takes the score to 4-6 to reedonly.

I'm still moving my hunters around hoping to harrass over the next couple of turns, I'm healing up my wounded XT then the AI is going to rumble forwards....

I think I can feel this game slipping away....

Curses!

While the current score is nor 4 -4 the barrage of grenades I received that last turn is ging to kill another troops on this next turn.

I think I made a mistake in retreating the AI back for healing. Although I needed to patch up a few troops, those troops mainly got taken out (leaving my hunters) so my 4 point megatank is spending this next turn patching up a lowly hunter.

He now has a 1 point lead, so it remains to see if he will bunker down and try to keep it.

I'm fixing up the worst Hunter, as I'd like to try to harras his troops with the paitr of hunters while I move the AI back out again for an attack. Thats hopefully going to happen over the enxt couple of turns.....

I'm considering sending the hunters back round to the right side of the map, and up into his base from that side. Its a bit daft as they have already covered that ground twice. I'm spending a lot of time this game moving over the same ground.....

I dont have a lot of options really, I think I need to get the AI out into the fray in the next turn or two or else I'm going to be facing all of his troops with my one unit.....
