Is your printer spying on you?

This is news to me, althought it looks like its been going on some time. Printer manufacturers have been imbedding information into printouts that enable a document to be tracked back to the printer that produced it. Evidently thay are printing small patterns of yellow dots intermingled with the rest of the print out that can be decoded to the printers serial number and model.

The EFF are trying to track down the makes of printers that do this in order to put pressure on them to stop the practice.
