Paperboy

Hey. I just bought the game after a month of searching every store in Kansas. I am so happy to have it.

Basically, I want a field roster game. I would like to play Greys or Spawn. Thanks ahead of time!

Bremenacht

I'm new. First time I've tried on-line. Currently on 2nd Marine level (Rookie) on the single player mode.

No idea what to ask for - or what to expect...

Ooops....

While I was fiddling about with the settings for the email notifications I managed to turn off any Comment subscriptions people may have added. If you have added any then I'm afraid you'll need to go back and do it again. Sorry 'bout that.

Also, any Field Instructors who opt to receive instant emails when a new Runner is waiting will now find that not only do you get new Runner emails, you also get new Runner comment emails. That way, you can see if another FI has beat you to the Runner!

If you dont like getting all these emails then you can click on the link contained in the notification email and either turn the comment mails on or off, or remove your subscription altogether. You just click on whatever option you want and its automagically saved away. Its dead easy, but any problems then feel free to mail me .

Field Instructor FAQ

I just randomly staggered upon this website and have no idea what you are talking about. Whats LSN ?

LSN stands for Laser Squad Nemesis. Its a PBEM (Play By Email) game made by the same people who released X-Com, Terror from the Deep, Rebelstar Raiders and the original Laser Squad.

In short its a turn based game where you order your troops (which can consist of 1 of 4 different races) in a fight to the death with your opponent. The twist is that instead of playing your CPU, you play against other real, live players.

For more details, check out the official website

How do I get a game with one of the Field Instructors?

The best way of getting an Instructor game is to Ask For One . Enter your LSN details and our Field Instructors will be along to send you a training challenge.

Alternatively you can take a look down the list of Available Instructors on the main page, read a little about them and then send your own challenge to the one you like best.

buckup

I'm posting this on buckup's behalf.

I played an Instructor game with him, but I didnt do a very good job I'm afraid. I went very all-out which probably wasnt much fun.

Sorry about that buckup.

Can someone else please give this chap a better game than I could?

Another Instructor joins the ranks

A big welcome to Palerider, who is another Instructor from the Elite division. Send him a challenge to pick his experienced brain!

Palerider

A big hearty welcome to the latest FI Volunteer, Palerider. Welcome aboard!!

LSN Name:- palerider (note lowercase 'p')

I live in the UK and I’ve been playing LSN now for almost 2 years (much to my wife’s chagrin). I’m currently in elite and have been for a while now after a period of promotion/relegation every other week or so.

I have no real preferred race though I tend to have periods of deploying one race more than any other. The only race I have little experience playing as is greys, though I’ve experience of giving them a few beatings…

When I started playing I never used the help of an F.I. to give me some pointers but I’m more than willing to share my experience and help you newcomers make the most of the game… Welcome to the world of LSN.

More progress

Things are just flying along here!

I've just added some functionality to enable people to get instant emails whenever someone makes an entry on this site.

"Why on earth would I want to do that...?"

Well, if you are a Field Instructor for example, you could subscribe to the Waiting Runners category, and get instant notification of new waiting runners.

You could also get notification whenever anyone posts a comment to an entry you have also posted comments to. That way, if someone says something scandalous about you, you can get right back in there with a cutting remark. Or some gibberish, its up to you.

This feature is currently in test, but you should start seeing an option to subscribe popping up around the site.

My last FI game timed out on turn 3 or 4 so if there's a less busy FI or if that one is less busy Id appreciate a full FI game. Thanks!

MilARKy

One of LaserSquad Nemesis's most prolific mappers has decided to join the FI ranks. Welcome MilARKy!

--------

About me, I make maps, I like to play on my maps and lose, I play aggresively and like chaos and surprise tactics. I've been in all the leagues but at the moment in and out of rookie and veteran. Fave Race in order is Spawn, Marines, Greys, Machina,

Tips:-

1) Pretend you have a fave race and people will expect you to deploy it :-) so then play something else

(as I said I love to play spawn.)

2) If people believe you only say you play spawn and play another race, then play SPAWN and surprise them!.

Though mostly incoherant I think I can teach you my ways.

Bad english only. :-)

New Challenge Me Feature!

As I posted earlier, I've found a way for new players to ask for a game with any of our Instructors.

At the top of the main page there is a link that says "Post A Challenge Request" . This should open a new window that will allow you to enter your LSN Playername and a brief message to go with it. Once you've posted it then your entry should appear under the Waiting Runners link also at the top of the page.

Once you are listed there then one of our FI's should pop along to send you a challenge. Depending on how busy they are it might take a little while for this challenge to appear, so if you are desperate to get going you can still issue your own to one of the Available Instructors over on the right.

This feature is brand-new, so there may be a few little niggles in there. I've given it a solid test, but if you think you have found a problem with it then drop me an email

Welcome To The Runners!

This page should contain a listing of all people who have posted a challenge request .

Our charmingly handsome FI's will soon be along to send you a game!

If you previously posted here and are wondering where your entry has gone, check here. . If you want another game then just post here again!

A note for the Instructors

You can use the form at the top of the page to receive email notifications of new Runner entries.

When you first subscribe you will receive emails about new Runners, and people posting new comments.

To change this, when you receive your first email you will find a link that lets you Manage your Subscriptions. In here you can turn off Comment notifications and just get the new Runner notifications. you can also remove your subscription if you no longer want them.

Any problems then drop me a line.

Progress....

It looks like I've finally found a decent method for allowing people looking for a challenge to make a direct posting on this site.

So, if you don't really mind which Field Instructor you have a game with you can post a general request and then one of our loving FI's will pick it up.

I'm going to try setting it up tonight on a test website to see how it goes......
